Belt Sizing
How to size an Ardent harness belt. Measure around your body where the belt sits, not your pants. Most wear 2 inches over pants size.
Each Ardent belt has five holes, spaced one inch apart. The size label refers to the middle hole. The first and last hole give you two inches of adjustment in either direction without being out of position.
Belts are cut from the side of the hide where the fibers run densest — the back. Each belt is a single piece. There is no layered construction, no glued reinforcement, no leather underlining. The number on the label is the actual length to your hole, measured from the fold at the buckle.
| Size | Waist | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | 30 | Sized to the middle hole; first hole is 28, last is 32. |
| 32 | 32 | Sized to the middle hole; first hole is 30, last is 34. |
| 34 | 34 | Sized to the middle hole; first hole is 32, last is 36. |
| 36 | 36 | Sized to the middle hole; first hole is 34, last is 38. |
| 38 | 38 | Sized to the middle hole; first hole is 36, last is 40. |
Choosing your size
- Find a belt you already wear and like the fit of. Measure from the fold at the buckle to the hole you use most. That number is your size.
- Or measure around your body, fully clothed, where you'd wear the belt. That number is your size.
- If you carry concealed at the waist, add 1 inch to your measurement.
- If you wear pants size N, your belt is usually N+2. Size 34 pants typically wants a size 36 belt — but the measurements above always win over the pants rule.
- Sizes 30–38 ship from stock. Custom sizes (28, 40, 42, 44) are available on request — same lead time, same price.
